PTA begins third-party SIM blocking operation. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is now entering the third phase of its operation against illegal use of SIM card-based mobile phones.
PTA sources told ProPakistan that it has now permanently blocked all SIM cards issued in the name of the deceased. All SIM cards registered in the name of deceased persons will be blocked unless they are transferred before October 15.
The administrator advised to transfer the ownership of these SIMS by submitting a valid death certificate to complete the process. In addition, proof of relationship with the deceased, original SIM and proof of current SIM must also be submitted for the transfer.
