The updated FBR Asaan tax application now allows registration and unpaid returns
The Federal Revenue Board (FBR) has released an updated version of its “Tax Asaan” application to file wage and non-salaried tax returns. It also allows new taxpayers to register online. This came to light on Thursday when Member Policy, Dr. Hamid Ateeq Sarwar, made a detailed presentation to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Income. Dr. Hamid informed the Senate that the application was launched in mid-September, but before, it was previously limited to the salaried class. The new version will now cover all income and assets of salaried and non-salaried individuals.
He later spoke with the media and revealed that the revenue control agency has received more than 50,000 salary returns digitally and thousands of downloads of the application within the first 24 hours of launch. I hoped that the smooth presentation would encourage more and more people to become filing cabinets. “Now we encourage all taxpayers to submit their returns on time,” he said. The updated version of the “Tax Asaan” application is available in the Android and iOS versions.
