Oppo premiered two new technologies at the Chinajoy Gaming Expo in Shanghai on August 2, showing a technology called “Game Color Plus” that claims to offer enlarged images and a “dual Wi-Fi technology” that increases network speed.
The two technologies are designed to optimize the users’ gaming experience by increasing the quality of the visual images of the games, the connection speed and the seamless switching between networks.
Game Color Plus
“Game Color Plus” is the result of a technical collaboration between Oppo and Qualcomm, with Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology and Snapdragon’s self-adapting technology, “Game Color Plus” improves color saturation and game contrast.
“Game Color Plus” also has the ability to adjust the visual presentation of the game and allows the game scenes to adapt better to the screens of Oppo smartphones, giving users a better visual experience.
Oppo and Qualcomm have customized the design of the user interface, parameter setting, error correction, performance and power tests, etc. As a result of this technical collaboration, Oppo is now the first smartphone manufacturer to apply “Game Color Plus” to offer enhanced game images.
“Game Color Plus” also features optimized energy savings, better visual quality and better battery life. The new technology allows Oppo to use efficient hardware to design devices that require massive computing power in the future.
Dual wifi technology
This new feature allows devices to connect to two different wireless networks simultaneously, and receive and send data independently, increasing the overall connection speed of the device. The new feature is available for smartphones that work with ColorOS 6.
Oppo Dual Wi-Fi technology is compatible with DBS / DBDC chip technology presented in Oppo Reno. It allows smartphones to connect to two different Wi-Fi access points (both can be configured on the same router), which can share the same SSID or have two different SSIDs, without any interference. It does this through policy-based routing and link aggregation/diversion technology.
Dual Wi-Fi is primarily enabled to address two key scenarios. The first scenario is when the device detects a bad connection in the current network environment, it will immediately enable the alternative Wi-Fi connection. The second is when a user is downloading files, here the device enables dual Wi-Fi to accelerate the download speed.
The Oppo phone that supports this function improves network speed and achieves a network change without interruptions, allowing users to enjoy the network experience of playing games without losing a connection, opening web pages without waiting and watching videos online with a better connection.
