Meanwhile, the British government pledged on Friday to examine how the BBC was conducting itself, following a damning investigation into how the broadcaster managed its 1995 interview with Princess Diana and unprecedented criticism from her son, Prince William. .
In a scathing statement, Diana’s eldest son William, now 38, called the way the interview was secured “misleading.”
“It brings an indescribable sadness to know that the failures of the BBC contributed significantly to the fear of her, paranoia and isolation from her that I remember from those last years with her.”
Her younger brother, Prince Harry, said the interview was part of a series of unethical practices that ultimately cost her mother her life.
“Our mother lost her life for this and nothing has changed,” he said.
